Why my kernel is moving to Rust
Hey there! So, I recently got back into developing my own OS, InfinityX OS↗, and while I'd learned some C/C++ for the kernel, I stumbled upon this cool new language called Rust↗. It's got some wild differences from C - no garbage collector, but instead this neat ownership and borrowing concept that lets you make memory-safe stuff without all the headache. The Rust Borrow Checker catches those pesky null pointers, dangling pointers, and race conditions at compile-time. Plus, it's got its own package manager, Cargo, for installing Crates (that's Rust-speak for packages). Now, here's the kicker - I'm planning to switch gears and create InfinityX-OS-2↗ using x86.asm and Rust for the kernel. It's gonna be a challenge, but I'm all in! I've even got a secret future project 🤫, built entirely with Rust. This language is so fantastic, it's the most loved programming language in the Stack Overflow survey. I'm excited to make the switch to Rust for my low-level projects, and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me!
